FALL RIVER—A year ago, Rex-Cut Products Inc. in the Fall River Industrial Park, celebrating 80 years manufacturing cotton abrasive materials, was actually having its best year ever, company President Claude Gelinas said. As the economy and manufacturing across the country tanked, however, the company that lured him to leave his junior high math teaching job in the city 30 years earlier felt more than a pinch, Gelinas said. But Gelinas, who actually had a part-time job at Rex-Cut in high school, and Director of Human Resources Maria A. Prado, with 15 years at the Airport Road business, explained last week how they've creatively worked to stop the bleeding and stay profitable.

Rex-Cut exhibited our full line of cotton fiber and specialty abrasive products at the show. Live demonstrations of weld grinding and finishing stainless steel and aluminum once again impressed and amazed show participants-- from welding shop fabricators to large industrial vessel manufacturers. The show was held at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas , Texas. If we missed you, perhaps you can catch up with us in Chicago in Nov! We hope to see you there! 

We plan to make it more a more informative resource to our customers each year. Also, we introduced an online webstore in June. The webstore is being provided to aid our international customers as well as those in remote areas of the U.S. requiring quick delivery on small orders of certain popular items.
