Cotton Fiber Quick Change Discs

A line of cotton fiber quick change abrasive discs that can blend welds and finish stainless steel in one-step, and last much longer than coated discs, is available from Rex-Cut Products, Inc. of Fall River, MA.

Rex-Cut® Cotton Fiber Quick-Change Discs are offered in 1", 1.5", 2", and 3" sizes with Type R screw-on or Type S twist-on style fasteners and can last up to 25 times longer than coated discs, claims the firm. Made from rein-forced non-woven cotton fiber, impregnated with abrasive grains and then pressed and bonded together, these discs run cool and constantly reveal fresh abrasives as they work to blend and finish in one-step.

Providing smooth, controlled grinding action, Rex-Cut® Cotton Fiber Quick-Change Discs are available with aluminum oxide or silicon carbide abrasives in coarse to fine grit sizes. A 54-Grit leaves a better finish than 32 RMS and one disc can be used for all edges and surfaces. In addition to large stainless steel fabrications, applications include blending machine tool marks from parts, breaking edges, deburring, and finishing.
